DJAZAGRO 2016 edition ended on Thursday, April 21st and was a great success once again. The 700 exhibitorsof the 5 sectors of activity, who were divided this year on 4 halls, have seen no less than 21,050 professional visitors from 30 different countries walking down the alleys of the exhibition.
This 14th edition, which has been held from 18th to 21st April 2016 at the SAFEX exhibition park in Algiers, marks a turning point in the exhibition history. For the first time, DJAZAGRO welcomed visitors from about ten African and Middle East countries : Burundi, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Libya, Morocco, Senegal, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates, making the exhibition the new African reference.
DJAZAGRO : a professional exhibition supported by Algerian institutions
Besides DJAZAGRO’s official partners like SAFEX and CACI, Mr Sid Ahmed Ferroukhi, Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, with Professor Mohamed Mebarki, Minister of Vocational Education and Training, have officially inaugurated the 2016 edition of the exhibition.
The French ambassador in Algeria, Mr Bernard Emié, also wanted to meet the french exhibitors on DJAZAGRO during an official visite on Tuesday, April 19th.
The 14th edition of the show also welcomed high officials, as the ambassadors of Chile, Italy, Poland and Turkey.
Exhibitors and visitors pleased by the show once again
21,050 professional visitors, an increase of 5% compared to 2015, where gathered in the Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the SAFEX exhibition Park in Algiers during 4 days. International visitors represent 8% of the number of visitors in 2016 and come from more than 30 different countries.
4 days of business with the 700 exhibitors this year. 82% were from 30 different countries. If Algeria is the first exhibiting country, France, Italy, Turkey, China and Spain are respectively between the 1st and the 5th international exhibiting countries.
Events highly successful
For its second edition, the Bakery of the Future attracted again lots of visitors. The demonstrations and tastings have proved that setting up an industrial bakery can be done with few machines and few workforce.
The Export Talk, hosted by Mr Riad Beladi from International Supermarket News has been inaugurated with a speech for the Minister for Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries on Tuesday, April 19th. The different topics covered by ALGEX, ANEXAL, CACI, CAGEX and ISN have gathered lots of journalists, visitors and exhibitors during almost 3 hours.
The first edition of DJAZAIR EXCELLENCE by DJAZAGRO, first competition for food artisans in Algeria was highly successful, thanks to an international judging panel, highly motivated candidates who realized foods worthy of the greatest competitions, and a big audience every day.
Very positive results
The increasing number of visitors has no impact on their quality, according to the great business climate felt in the different alleys of the show. Exhibitors are satisfied with the contacts they made on the show, where they met with their clients but also with new prospects.
Once again, DJAZAGRO shows that the market and the Algerian agro-food industry is growing, by displaying a greater range of products.
Next edition of DJAZAGRO will be held from Monday 10th to Thursday 13th April 2017, at the SAFEX Exhibition Park in Algiers.
