DJAZAGRO 2022 REVIEW : A SUCCESSFUL EDITION IN A CONSTRUCTIVE BUSINESS ATMOSPHERE!

The 19th edition of DJAZAGRO, the trade show for agro-food production, came to a close on 2 June 2022. Over the space of four days, it brought together 500 countries including 75% non-Algerian firms from 25 countries, and 19,987 agro-food sector professionals.

A strong foreign visitor contingent, multiple discussions between exhibitors and professionals, high-quality special features: all the right ingredients were combined to ensure that this back-to-business edition provided the opportunity for productive encounters, and displayed the dynamism and vitality of the Algerian market.

“We were delighted to spend these four days meeting up with all the main players in the agro-food sector. This back-to-business edition made it possible to being together a strong international community, in terms of both exhibitors and visitors. There were 25 countries in attendance, alongside a highly representative Algerian audience.

To round out the exhibitor offering, DJAZAGRO deployed a special features programme:

DJAZ’INNOV: for thefirst time, exhibitors were offered the opportunity to enter a competition that paid tribute to the best equipment, products and technologies.

Each product, service or piece of equipment entered was scrutinised by a panel of experts from the Food and food processing sector. The award ceremony took place on the first day of the show, and the winning products were displayed throughout the exhibition on the stands and on the Trends & Innovation Area.

 

DJAZ’INNOV 2022 award winners

OR : Bunge CLSP555 Plus – Exhibitor: Bunge Loders Croklaan (Spain) / Food products category

CLSP555 is a fractionated vegetable fat also known as cocoa butter substitute – CBS. It is also used in confectionery, biscuits, baking and dairy products.

 

ARGENT : Simpl-CutTM – Exposant : P.E. Labellers spa (Italie) / Food products category

for its roll-fed rotary labelling machine for the application of wrap-around labels with hot melt or pre-glued labels, offering entirely innovative characteristics.

 

BRONZE 2022 : Derplast – Exhibitor: Selected Performance Ingredients (Spain) / Packaging category

Derplast is a plastic food-grade coating intended for external treatment during the cheese ripening process.

2022 2020 JUDGES’ AWARD: Nacre –Exhibitor: Sensient Flavors (France) / Food product category

NACRE is a plant extract solution designed to enhance the taste in all savoury food applications. It has been developed to boost the profile, succulence and lastingness of foods and also to mask certain undesirable notes (e.g., the taste of certain proteins used in vegan alternatives).

 

2022 ALGERIAN INITIATIVE AWARD : Robotfilligne 3000 – Exhibitor: GRS Algérie - Ghazi Robotics Système (Algeria) / Processing category

This optimised artificial intelligence robotic production line with a capacity of 3,000 bottles per hour in an ultra-clean aseptic environment guarantees perfect filling while respecting nature with the lowest possible energy consumption, noise pollution and emissions.

 

 

Trends & Innovation Area: a programme of talks designed in partnership with Nutrimarketing offered a platform to specialists who came to share their expertise on the challenges in the sector, innovation and new market trends.

The Djazagro Bakery presented equipment in operation covering the entire production process of baguettes, special bread and croissants from local ingredients.

Demonstrations were given every day by a French baker, using local raw materials and equipment provided by partner exhibitors. Furthermore, Lesaffre Algérie, a new partner in 2022, presented its new mix and premix ranges during two half-days: a barley bread and wholemeal mixes.
